ROTARY CLUB ALL SET FOR FAMILY FUN DAY
The Isles of Scilly Rotary Club's biggest fundraiser of the year, the Spring Family Fun Day, will take place on Holgate's Green tomorrow.
The event, run in conjunction with the ladies of the Inner Wheel, will include two bouncy castles, a beer tent, barbecue, tea and cakes and a variety of stalls.
There will also be space-hopper racing, a dance display, darts, roll-a-penny, wheel of fortune, 'gig racing', golf, target football and crazy bicycle, as well as candy floss, doughnuts and Pimms.
Club member John Read said: "We usually try to do one Fun Day over the Spring Bank Holiday and another in August but this time we'll be involved with the Regatta that the Islands' Partnership are organising in August."
He said that tomorrow's Fun Day will also include the ever-popular chicken racing, joking: "They're not coerced, they're (h)encouraged."
Scilly Hu-Ha - which is raising money to help Anna Hambrook with her cancer treatment - will have a stall at the event, which is compered by Brian Thomas.
All money raised with the exception of the Hu-Ha stall will go to Rotary Club and Inner Wheel charities.
The Fun Day starts at 12, with the weather predicting a mainly dry day with some light cloud.
