Author and former Children's Laureate Michael Morpurgo is returning to the Isles of Scilly this weekend.

The author will host an afternoon of book readings, book signings and a question and answer session at Bryher Community Centre on Sunday 22nd May.

Morpurgo, a self-confessed Scilly addict, fell in love with the islands on family holidays and has based many of his best-selling books on the Isles of Scilly, including Why the Whales Came, The Sleeping Sword and Listen to the Moon.

The main point of contact for the event is Bryher Shop, and tickets for the event are available from the shop and Tresco Island Office.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children, with all proceeds going to Bryher Community Centre.
