FIVE-STAR FIVE ISLANDS PUPILS PROVE SCILLY'S GOT TALENT
Pupils from Five Islands School proved once again that ‘Scilly’s Got Talent’ in a sell-out event at the school last night.
There were 18 acts in total across the entire age range in an evening of great variety and entertainment.
Entries ranged from songs and dance routines to stand-up comedy and a solving of the Rubik’s cube to the theme of Mission Impossible.
Head Boy Ethan Graham and Head Girl Tara Hitchens compered the event and were assisted by a panel of judges, which included last year’s winner Tilli Duffy-Griffiths.
Amber Carr was voted the winner for her accomplished performance of Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’.
Zachary Hick came in second place for his entertaining take on KSI’s ‘Keep Up’.
In third place were the Mundesley Crew with “Mashup’, an hilarious dance routine to eclectic clips of music ranging from Vangelis to the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
While the top-three acts were most deserving of their accolades, credit is due to all the performers who had the courage to take to the stage.
This is Scilly would like to give a special mention to Lottie, Layla and Megan for being the first act to perform, which takes extreme courage, David, Jowan, Dominik and Dylan for their breakdancing to ‘Walk This Way’, which really got the crowd involved at an early stage of proceedings, Kenny for displaying the wonderful gift to make people laugh, and Sonny for his originality and maintaining his concentration to complete the Rubik’s cube in front of so many people.
The event was organised by the Student Council in support of the School in a Bag initiative run by the Piers Simon Appeal.
