St Mary's Theatre Club is urgently in need of young men for its summer project.

In The Pink is a series of vignettes based on real events and contemporary letters from World War 1 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.

However, the project is has lost three of its male cast in the last two weeks, though 2 more have since come forward.

A Club member said: "We're sailing very close to the wind in terms of any more of the cast dropping out. It would be great if we could have more young men to play soldiers.

"It doesn't have to be a commitment for the whole summer - anything you can do would be appreciated. They're also very short parts, so there's not much to learn."

The first performances take place at the Town Hall on May 24th and 25th.

Meanwhile, the One Act Play Festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 8 May and more submissions all always welcome.
