Michael Benney has confirmed that Mr B's will remain open when he takes over Griffin Butchers in the New Year.

NEW BUTCHER: ‘MR B’s WILL REMAIN OPEN’

Michael, who trained as a butcher when he left school, will replace Steve Griffin, who is retiring at the beginning of January.

Steve originally stopped trading in October 2011, going on to rent the shop to the Plowman's Food Company in March 2012. He re-opened in 2015.

Mike opened Hugh Town steak and burger bar Mr B's - previously Blues and the Cornerhouse - in February 2015 after ten years running the British Legion in St Ives.

He said of the decision to take on a new venture: "The opportunity came up just by chance. It's funny how a week can change things quite a bit.

"I will keep things the same in the butchers at the moment and I will be working both of the businesses."

He said he is "looking forward" to starting in the shop in the New Year.
