ST MARY'S POST OFFICE WILL NOT JOIN STRIKE
St Mary's Post Office bosses have reassured islanders that they will not be joining the planned national strike.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has asked its members to strike from Monday, December 19th until Christmas Eve over job security and pensions.
St Mary's Sub-Postmistress Lindsay Rodger posted on social media yesterday to clear up concerns in the community about possible delays over the Christmas period.
The post read: "This Strike is for POST OFFICE staff only. Here on St Mary's we are committed to supporting our community who rely on us throughout the year.
"There will be no strike action on St. Mary's. There will be no disruption to the service you receive.
"The mail will not be delayed, unless this weather continues to work against us!"
