St Mary's Theatre Club raised £200 for Children In Need with its social evening at Old Town Inn on Friday.

The group put on a one-act pantomime called Cinderella Rockerfeller in the absence of a full panto in 2017.

It starred Becky Green, Linda Thomas, Julia Grottick, Alison Gardner and writer Jenny Byers, with Theatre Club chairman Steve Sims as the Dame. Anne Farr and Betty Sherris helped with costumes and props.

15-year-old James Hathway, who made a cameo as a monster, was afterwards presented with the annual Turner Award for his outstanding portrayal of a young Richard Larn in this year's summer play In The Pink.

Presenting the award, Steve said there "wasn't a dry eye in the house" during James's performance.

Alison Jenkins and Ian Wrigley also sang Cornish songs during the evening, which ended with two hours of very lively karaoke.
