KARMA OWNER: BREXIT GOOD FOR THE HOTEL INDUSTRY

The owner of Karma St Martins Hotel has said that he thinks Brexit will be good for the hotel industry.

Former music agent John Spence believes English hotels will see a "boom" as the pound falls in value.

He told The Straits Times: "Brexit may mean that more British people holiday in England. I think English hotels are going to have a boom... if the pound is weak, people are more encouraged to come."

He added: "The hospitality sector is very resilient; holidays are one of the last things people will give up."

British-born Spence is on the lookout for more deals in the UK after opening Karma St Martins in August 2014.

Karma Group, founded in 1993, currently operates 26 resorts around the world, with a further six under development.
