The Isles of Scilly is the only local authority in Great Britain not to receive any claims for vehicle damage caused by potholes in the last year.
LOCAL POT HOLES GONE TO POT ACCORDING TO NEW DATA
Figures released by the RAC show that 425 compensation claims were made over poor road conditions in Cornwall.
Drivers across Great Britain made at least 31,483 claims in 2015/16, an increase of 9% on the previous year.
One claim was made in Scilly in 2014/15, while there were none the previous year.
The bulk of the roads on St Mary's were resurfaced in 2014 by Lagan Construction.
Cllr Ted Moulson, Chair of the Transport, Development and Infrastructure Committee, said: "It’s not a big surprise that we have no claims as we must have some of the best roads in the UK. But potholes still appear from time to time on the unimproved roads and the sooner they are reported the better.
"The council operational services team will generally get out and fill the offending hole by the end of the next working day."
