There will be no pantomime on Scilly this winter for the second year running.

St Mary's Theatre Club is still unable to put on a major production due to the condition of the stage area in the Town Hall.

However, there will be an evening of entertainment in November, including a short pantomime, open mic and karaoke.

Other planned events include a Directing workshop in January.

The Club announced at Thursday's Half Yearly meeting that it will give £500 from the donations collected at summer production In The Pink to the British Legion.

The One Act Play Festival will go ahead next year for the sixth time. Aspiring playwrights are asked to contact organiser Jenny Byers for details of how to enter on

It is hoped that the pantomime will return next winter.
