SCHOOL CONGRATULATES PUPILS ON EXAM SUCCESS
The Isles of Scilly's school has congratulated pupils on their success in recent GCSE exams.
In a press release it was announced that ‘once again Five Islands School has exceeded national results with 100% of students passing their exams. 87% achieved 5 or more A* to C grades compared to the national figure of 67%. English results were especially impressive with a staggering 91% achieving A* to C’.
Maths and science were particular disciplines of high achievement with 74% of pupils gaining A* to C in maths and 79% in two sciences.
Another highly successful discipline was humanities where 100% of students were awarded grades ranging from A* to C.
Top performing student Joe Wright was singled out for praise for attaining 3As and 5A*s.
Headteacher Linda Todd said: “These results reflect the hard work of the students supported by a dedicated teaching team” and she wished the students every success in the next stage of their education.
