CHURCH BLOOMS AS FLOWER FESTIVAL GETS UNDERWAY

St Mary's Parish Church has burst into bloom with the start of the annual flower festival.

This year, the always-spectacular arrangements are based on the theme 'Island Life'.

The 19 individual displays include 'Our obsession with the weather', 'Diving', 'Scillonian III' and 'Tresco Abbey Gardens'.

Organiser Jane Chiverton said: "The 19 flower arrangers have done a fantastic job and the church looks magnificent when you walk in. Thanks everyone for their splendid effort and all the help plus the cakes donated."

The flowers can be seen from 9am-5pm each day until September 10.

Teas, coffee and cake will be served in the pavilion at these times.
