The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit St Mary's, St Martins and Tresco during their day trip to the Isles of Scilly on September 2.

The couple will apparently begin on Porthmellon beach, where they will meet members of St Mary’s Gig Club, then head to the harbour to view the quay extension. They will also sample a little of the islands' Taste of Scilly festival and speak to local producers and small business owners.

They will then tour Tresco Abbey Garden and meet the gardeners who work there, before heading to St Martins to see the postal flower service Scilly Flowers at Churchtown Farm.

Prince William and Kate will conclude their tour of the islands with a visit to St Martins Community Centre, where they will meet local residents.

The Duke and Duchess have never previously visited the islands as a couple, although they were rumoured to be spending their honeymoon here. They ended up going to the Seychelles.
