LOCAL MAN DIES IN SWIMMING TRAGEDY

A local man in his 50s has died after getting into difficulties while swimming close to Porthcressa beach.

The Coastguard was called just before six on Saturday after reports that a man had been pulled from the sea, where he had been swimming with a friend.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance landed on Porthcressa and he was taken to Treliske hospital in Truro.

The man has been identified locally as Rob Lloyd. His next of kin have been informed.

The Isles of Scilly police are keen to trace two women who are thought to have come to his aid and commenced CPR.
