Miracle Theatre is to present its latest production on the Isles of Scilly next week.

The touring theatre group will perform five shows of Life's A Dream, which they describe as an "epic fable of love, war and destiny".

Based on Spanish dramatist Calderón's most revered work La Vida Es Sueño, first published around 1635, it centres around the conflict between free will and fate, and dreams and reality.

The play tells the story of a King who imprisons his son because of a prophecy that he will bring disaster to the world and death to his father.

Prompted by a young woman, the King decides to set his son free, giving him the chance to prove his good character.

But is it ever possible to escape one’s fate?

Miracle Theatre most recently visited the islands last year with its show The Magnificent Three.

Wednesday 27 July 7pm
