A St Agnes artist has described opening her own gallery this season as a "dream come true".

Emma Eberlein debuted Potbuoys gallery on St Agnes at the end of March, selling work from local artists and craftspeople as well as British artists. She stocks jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, paintings, baskets, cards and gifts with Scilly in mind.

"Lots of my things are on a theme of recycled," she said. "I myself make recycled beach plastic jewellery and paint on driftwood found in Scilly.

"I source all the things myself and over the years of organising craft fairs and art exhibitions on St. Agnes have made lots of great contacts."

She said of opening the gallery: "Mandy who had the bulb shop retired at the end of the season and she told me to go and see the Duchy, so I did a business plan and went for an interview and the rest is history!

"I have always wanted my own gallery and it is a dream come true."

Emma said she is thinking of opening on Saturday or Sunday afternoons in the winter.

The Potbuoys gallery is currently open Tuesday to Saturday between 10.30am and 3.30pm, and 11-3 on Sundays.
