The Festival Players are back on the Isles of Scilly next month with their latest outdoor production Hamlet.

The all-male theatre company has taken on one of Shakespeare's most famous works for its new European tour, in honour of the 400th anniversary of the bard's death

They will visit the Chaplaincy Gardens on St Mary's on Friday August 12th and Saturday 13th, and Tresco Abbey Gardens on Sunday 14th.

The play is described as ‘bringing the excitement of this great thriller: intrigue, ghostly visitations, passion, a play-within-a-play, a gripping duel, and humour, in a crystal-clear and fast-paced two-hour production’.

The Festival Players, from Gloucestershire, have been touring professional outdoor Shakespeare productions for over 30 years. They use an all-male cast to follow in the footsteps of Shakespeare’s own Globe Theatre, where all roles were taken by men.
