LIFEBOAT CALLED OUT TO 'DISTRESSED' WOMAN

The St Mary's Lifeboat was called out to a yacht with a 'distressed' woman on board on Thursday.

In its tenth shout for 2016, the lifeboat collected two police officers from St Mary's and headed to the yacht's location at Old Grimsby Sound.

The officers boarded the vessel, which had two people on board, and took around 45 minutes to calm the situation sufficiently for it to be deemed 'safe'. They then left the scene.

The Tresco Coastguard team was also present.
