NEW WW1 PLAY OPENS TONIGHT

St Mary's Theatre Club's latest production opens in the Town Hall tonight.

In The Pink is a series of vignettes taken from the experiences of real-life Scillonians during the Great War, using letters, photos and anecdotes from the time.

The show starts at 8pm, with doors opening at 7.15. It is also on tomorrow evening at the same time.

The production - devised to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme - features a large cast of island residents.

They include Rachael Easterbrook, Tim Dean, Ben Barrett, Gordon Abbott, Tony Dingley, Angela Jenkins, Linda Thomas, Steve Douglas, Steve Sims, David Corners, and many more.

Music is provided by Chris Garratt, Debbie Crane and other members of the Sunset Syncopators.
