An easy way to get around St Mary's
The Community Bus operates on St Mary's throughout the holiday season, serving a circular route from the Town Hall throughout day.
Although based on St Mary's, it is still a useful resource if you are staying on the off-islands as it can take you to a variey of amenities such as the riding stables, the swimming pool and the cafes and beach at Old Town.
In most cases, for example, the circular trip at 11:00am should tie in with the morning boats arriving on the quay while the the trip at 3:00pm should see you safely on the return voyage. Boats are tide dependant of course so always check the times of the scheduled boats each day to be certain otherwise you will need to book a jet boat which is a little more expensive.
There are no official bus stops on the island but if you are anywhere in the vicinity of the locations on the timetable just stick out your hand and the driver will stop.
Dogs are welcome on the bus and there is no extra charge.
You can pick up your own copy of the timetable from the Tourist Information Centre and most accommodation outlets - and on the bus itself course!
