Fly to the Isles of Scilly from London City via Exeter

Flights between London City Airport and Exeter Airport operate daily throughout the summer season.



Inbound Journey:


Flights depart London City Airport Monday to Friday at 5:45pm, Saturday at 11:50am and on Sunday at either 8:30pm or 8:45pm.


Option 1:

Departing from London Monday to Friday will require an overnight stay in Exeter.


Option 2:

Flights departing London at 11:50am on Saturday arrive in Exeter at 1:00pm. The next Skybus departs at 4:15pm and arrives in St Mary's at 5:15pm.


Option 3:

Departing from London on Sunday will require an overnight stay in Exeter.



At St Mary's Airport there will be transport waiting to take you to your accommodation. If you are travelling to another island the driver will drop you off at the quay to meet your boat.

When the driver drops you off it is advisable to book your return trip to the airport for your day of departure.



Return Journey


Option1: Return flights from Exeter to London City Monday to Saturday are all early morning departures so you will require an overnight stay in Exeter.


Option 2: Sunday flights from Exeter to London City are mid-afternoon flights but Skybus does not operate on a Sunday so you will require an overnight stay in Exeter.

The frequency of flights makes trips to the Isles of Scilly from London City conducive to both long and short breaks, However, there is no alternative other than an overnight stay in Exeter either side of your islands experience.


Make sure you have travel insurance.


Book a flight from London City Sunday to Friday, have a relaxing evening in Exeter and travel to Scilly the following morning on the Skybus flight at 10:40am.


Book a return flight from Exeter to London City on any day except Monday and spend the evening in Exeter, having flown from St Mary's at 2:45pm. In the event of bad weather or poor visibility you may have an option to transfer to the boat, Scillonian III, which usually leaves St Mary's at 4.30pm and arrives in Penzance at 7:15pm - there are slight variations owing to tides. Transport from Penzance to Exeter can be arranged in advance to ensure you make your flight home the following day.
